Scanner is offline and showing as SHINING-CAM in device manager

Applicable Software: All Einscan, Einstar and FreeScan scanners 
Operating System: Windows 10/11 


Error Identification / Symptoms :  


  • The scanner is offline in the software interface while it is connected to the computer.
  • Scanner is visible as SHINING-CAM in device manager


Occurrence : 


  • This issue happens when FireWall, Windows, Antivirus program, block driver installation, or installation of software did not go as planned.


Tools Required

  • A PC running Windows 10 or 11

  • Device Manager

  • Administrative privileges to modify system settings


Solution
Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open Device Manager

    • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.


  2. Select Shining-Cam
    • Right click on SHINING-CAM and select “update driver”

  3. Locate driver folder

    • Then select “Browse my computer for drivers”

       

  4. Update Driver localy

    • Browse “Resource” folder in the software install path pictured below. Select “OK” and hit “next”


Verification

  • The scanner is recognized by the software without disconnecting.

  • The scanner remains online and functions correctly without interruptions.
