Error Identification
Error Description
- Symptoms: The screen flickers only when the software is running. This is purely a visual issue and does not appear in screen recordings or during a TeamViewer session.
- Occurrence: This issue arises when the AMD GPU is used instead of the NVIDIA GPU. It specifically affects laptops or PCs equipped with an AMD CPU that has an integrated GPU.
- Frequency: Sometimes (4 out of 10).
Tools Required
- Control Panel from XMG, available from the official XMG Downloads portal.
- Ensure that the correct model of the laptop or tower is selected before proceeding.
Solution
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Download and install the Control Center from XMG Downloads - Download Portal .
- Open the Control Center application.
- Change the GPU configuration to "Discrete GPU only" or "Dedicated GPU" (located in the bottom right corner).
- Restart the laptop, or allow the software to restart it automatically.
- If the issue persists, manually update the required drivers from the manufacturer’s website: - Update the AMD chipset drivers.
- Before switching to the discrete GPU, update the OEM version of AMD GPU drivers (e.g., Driver-AMD_VGA_OEM_ORIGINAL.zip).

Verification
The issue is resolved when:
- The screen flickering no longer occurs while the software is running.
- Only one GPU is displayed in the NVIDIA Control Panel.
- The NVIDIA Control Panel displays more than four settings tabs.
- The display is directly connected to the dedicated GPU.

Preventive Measures
- There are no direct preventive measures; this issue will always occur if the settings are not properly configured.
- While it may not impact scanning functionality, ensuring the correct settings helps prevent unnecessary software bugs or system instability.
